PM Modi to Visit Maharashtra to Lay Foundation Stones for Different Projects
Around 800 speakers from India and overseas will address more than 350 sessions at the Global Fintech conference.
PM will be busy today in Maharashtra inaugurating and laying foundation stones for different projects.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Vadhvan Port project project worth ₹76,000 crore in Maharashtra on August 30. He will also lay the foundation stone for several other projects in Palghar in the afternoon.

In the morning, Modi will address a special session of the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai at the Jio World Convention Centre. The fest is being jointly organised by the Payments Council of India, the National Payments Corporation of India and the Fintech Convergence Council.
Around 800 speakers from India and overseas will address more than 350 sessions at the Global Fintech conference.
In the afternoon, PM Modi will reach Palghar around to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of the Vadhvan Port.
Highlights of his tour:
The PM will lay the foundation stone of 218 fisheries projects worth around ₹1,560 crores to generate five lakh employment opportunities in the fisheries sector.
He will also launch the National Rollout of Vessel Communication and Support system, developed by ISRO for the safety of fishermen by enabling two-way communication when they are out at sea.
Under the ₹360 crores project, 1 lakh transponders will be set up in a phased manner on fishing vessels in coastal states and union territories.
Narendra Modi took to X to announce his arrival in Maharashtra today.
“I look forward to being among the people of Maharashtra tomorrow, 30th August. I will take part in programs in Mumbai and Palghar. In Mumbai, I will take part in the Global Fintech Fest 2024 at around 11 AM. This platform showcases India's strides in the world of Fintech and brings together key stakeholders of the sector,” his post on X reads.
“Thereafter, I will be in Palghar for the foundation stone laying program of the Vadhvan Port project. This is a very important project, signifying our commitment to port-led development and to the progress of Maharastra,” he further added.
